31 October 2022 has been confirmed as the last date at which patients globally may be entered into screening for the trial. All patients screened on or prior to 31 Oct 2022 will continue in the study as usual i.e. eligibility review, induction chemotherapy, MTB (if applicable) and Treatment phase.
A reminder that CUP-COMP is recruiting up to 120 patients by December 2022. The trial, led by the Christie, is to assess and compare genomic sequencing in tissue and blood for the diagnosis and treatment stratification of CUP patients. More info
We have just become aware of the death of Prof. Gauri Varadhachary who died in August 2021 aged 52. Those who attended our 2009 international conference in London where she was a distinguished speaker will remember her. NICE have responded to our request to establish the status of the review of CG104 – Metastatic Malignant Disease of Unknown Primary which had been scheduled pre-Pandemic. They have advised that the work has not yet started and they do not know when it will start.
The NHS have released a progress check against the NHS Long Term Plan commitments for cancer.
